Is There A Man in the House?
Home > Pastor's Blog > Is There A Man in the House? We live in a politically correct world where the line between the gender’s has been increasingly blurred. While the Bible clearly points out the importance of mutual submission and respect between men and women in the home, it also equally clearly establishes a unique responsibility to lead that is given to the husband. From the words of warning concerning the consequence of rebellion in Genesis 2 to Adam, to the command to “love your wives as Christ loved the church” given by Paul to the Ephesians; there is a fundamental duty God communicates to the man to provide spiritual leadership in his home. In the course of ministry, I often find men who struggle to balance the idea of being a sensitive, caring, and supportive husband and father, with their long held views of what constitutes being a “man’s man”! God’s Word challenges us to embrace both roles with equal fervency. The most “manly” things a man can ever do for his family is be a true Man of God. A man who is unafraid to be gentle and tender when necessary, but also unafraid to stand firm and provide the leadership the home so desperately needs. On moral, ethical, and spiritual issues, God has called men to serve as a faithful Priest for their household. My prayer and hope is that when the question is posed for your home, “Is there a man in the House?”, your answer will be a resounding YES!
