Search me….

Home > Pastor's Blog > Search me….

In the closing verses of Psalm 139,  David poses a multi-faceted reqeust to the Lord.  He pleads with God to  “…search me…know me….try me….lead me…”    When you pause to consider the significance of David’s request, we can’t help but recognize the cry of a man seeking the absolute best from his walk with God.  Although David was a man of very familiar human weakness, he was also a man after the very heart of God.  To anyone who seeks to know God intimately and desires to live a life that pleases Him, this familiar prayer of David must become a constant to our spiritual life.  The desire is for God to expose for us any weakness that might be found, and to ultimately lead us to a life of faithful living that will produce the very best example of a Christian.    It is a bold and courageous prayer to ask the Soverign Creator to “search me”, yet it is a prayer He will always answer.
